Baguette Cafe: A Vegas Gem
Chances are, if you know me, I've touted about this little hidden gem in Vegas called Baguette Cafe. Tucked away in a corner of a business park off Buffalo & the 215, this glorious French cafe has been run by Olivier and his family since 2009. And by French-ran, I mean absolutely delicious best-kept-secret that a fat kid has been blessed to discover with the accent to boot!
What makes this place so amazing? First of all, it's not a chain. I detest chains… (Except for Roberto's. You can never go wrong with Mexican food, drunk at 4am.) It's one of the rare, utterly delicious "mom & pop" in this instance "& son" kind of place that is consistently fresh and friendly. Second, It's French! How can you go wrong with French food?! The soups, pastries, and breads are made fresh from scratch daily. You're always greeted with the most friendly welcome--most of the time by Olivier (the owner) himself. The food is relatively inexpensive. I haven't had to pay more than $7 for any sandwich or salad. There's never been a mediocre review of any of the food, nor have I had to give one myself. And I, Jill Pham, am an ultimate food snob. Only because I've traveled the world to eat on a moderate, Anthony Bourdain-esq level of culinary adventureship. Get at me, bro!
So why am I writing a piece about this place? Because A) I can, B) Everyone should be introduced to amazing food, and C) Olivier has agreed to showcase a beautiful collection of our black & white photos from Paris 2012. Yay for free product placement for Gin & Sake!
In conclusion, go get your grub on & check out our artwork.
